Right now we're trying to be mindful of being present and focusing on the things we can do and control. I'm not quite sure who said this, but it's touching a chord with us this week here at AV HQ.
"Yesterday was heavy, put it down."
And so that is what we are trying to do. We've voted, we've researched, and now we wait with bated breath (count all the votes!) and remember that no matter what happens, we will continue to treat our fellow Americans with kindness and compassion.
This week's new shop arrivals is a mix of classic and romantic silhouettes in pretty calming hues for the month of November. Here at savadyblog we believe it is important to build a timeless and feminine wardrobe instead of one based on popular fast fashion trends so you're creating a wardrobe that has sustainable longevity. It's why so many of the garments we choose for the shop from various independent designers and labels all have a reference (sometimes more obvious, sometimes more subtle) to a vintage garment we have sold in the past here at savadyblog. We also adore all the pretty floral prints that work so well for this season but easily translate for the future as well.
I've been reading "The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down" by South Korean monk Haemin Sunim and found this quote quite fitting for being present and appreciating daily life and practicing gratitude for the simple things.
